JEWISH QUARTER

Tours every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday

The Barrio Santa Cruz (former Jewish neighbourhood) is a special and fascinating place.

The old Jewish quarter of Seville is overflowing with history and legends, and is as alive today as it’s ever been. Santa Cruz is the labyrinth of houses, “patios” and small squares bordered by the Real Alcazar, the Murillo Gardens, Calle Mateos Gago, and Calle Santa Maria.

The exploration of this district is as crucial as the Royal Alcazar or Plaza de España in the fulfilment of the Sevillian experience. This entire neighbourhood is a must-see when visiting the city.

Seville is full of legends of the Sephardic and their historical past, and still in 2021, you feel the weight of history in its streets.

Some of the topics we will talk about are:

  • ¿Why the streets are so narrow?
  • What was life like for the Jews here?
  • How many years did the Jews live here?
  • At 17:00H (ONLY IN ENGLISH)
